Castiglione Della Pescaia originally Roman in origin is nowadays a popular Italian tourist destination. It is a stylish and attractive town with port, and beaches near the port and in the nearby areas of Punta Ala and Riva del Mare. In the lower area of the town there is plenty of accommodation (as with most of Italy's coastal resorts definately pre-book in August) and many bars and restaurants.

Above Castiglione Della Pescaia is the old medieval town mostly dating from its period under Pisan, Aragonese and subsequent Florentine control. It has an ancient church, historic buildings and a 14th century Aragonese castle which is privately owned but you can get great coastal views towards Elba and Monte Argentario from its exterior.
